Job Description:

We are partnering with a leading global investment bank with a top‑tier financial restructuring and distressed M&A platform, widely recognised as a market leader in complex restructurings. The London restructuring team is a core European hub, advising companies, creditors, sponsors and lenders on cross‑border restructurings, stressed refinancings and special situations.

The opportunity

  • Join a high‑performing Financial Restructuring team in London, working on high‑profile, often landmark, European and global mandates across sectors.
  • Work in lean deal teams where Senior Associates own key workstreams, benefit from direct client interaction and close exposure to senior bankers.
  • Be part of a results‑driven, entrepreneurial culture with clear progression into VP and strong exits into private equity, private credit and special situations funds.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead core analytical workstreams on debtor‑ and creditor‑side restructurings, distressed M&A, liability management and stressed refinancings.
  • Build, review and challenge advanced financial models, including fully integrated three‑statement projections, liquidity and cash‑flow analysis, covenant and capital structure models, recovery and valuation analysis.
  • Design and assess restructuring options, in‑court and out‑of‑court, and prepare clear recommendations and scenarios for boards, creditor committees and sponsors.
  • Prepare high‑quality client deliverables: options analyses, information memoranda, lender and bondholder presentations, board materials and recovery analyses.
  • Support complex multi‑stakeholder negotiations and contribute to the development of term sheets and transaction documentation.
  • Drive day‑to‑day execution on live deals, coordinating closely with internal teams and external advisers under demanding timelines.
  • Coach and oversee junior team members, helping to maintain best‑in‑class analytical and presentation standards.

Candidate profile

  • Senior Associate‑level experience (typically c. 4–6 years total) in financial restructuring, special situations or closely related investment banking roles, ideally within a dedicated restructuring platform.
  • Excellent technical skills: strong accounting foundations, advanced Excel and financial modelling capability, and deep understanding of credit, capital structures, covenants and valuation in stressed and distressed situations.
  • Track record of contributing to live restructuring or distressed transactions, preferably with cross‑border elements and multi‑stakeholder processes.
  • Strong communication skills, able to distil complex analyses into clear, concise messages for senior stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated, resilient and comfortable in a fast‑paced, deal‑driven environment with significant responsibility.
  • Strong academic background in finance, economics, business, mathematics or a related discipline; additional professional qualifications are an advantage.

What is on offer

  • A seat within one of the most established global financial restructuring franchises, with a large, dedicated team and outstanding deal flow.
  • Exposure to complex, high‑impact mandates across Europe and internationally, offering exceptional learning and long‑term career optionality.
  • Competitive compensation with meaningful performance‑linked upside and a transparent, merit‑based promotion path.
  • Collaborative, non‑hierarchical culture that combines strong formal training with substantial early responsibility at Senior Associate level.
