The Opportunity

We are working with a well‑established and growing insurer to recruit an experienced Claims Handler to join a specialist claims function in Manchester.

This role focuses on the management of high‑value, complex Motor and/or Casualty claims, offering the opportunity to take ownership of significant losses and work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

The Role

• Handling a portfolio of large and complex claims, typically £100k+
• Providing technical input and supporting claims strategy on high‑value cases
• Acting as a key point of contact for brokers, policyholders, loss adjusters and suppliers
• Working closely with internal teams, including underwriting and senior claims stakeholders
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced claims professionals
• Identifying trends, technical issues and development opportunities within the team
• Liaising with reinsurers as required

About You

• Proven experience handling large loss Motor and/or Casualty claims
• Strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness
• Confident communicator able to manage senior stakeholders
• Calm, structured approach when handling complex and sensitive claims
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable using standard Microsoft Office applications
