A specialist enterprise IT hardware provider is hiring an IT Hardware Technician to join their operations team. This is a fully hands-on role focused on building, testing and troubleshooting enterprise-grade hardware before it is shipped to customers.
This is not a support or helpdesk role. You will be physically working with servers, storage and networking equipment every day, ensuring systems are configured, tested and ready for deployment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Configure, assemble and test enterprise server, storage and network hardware
- Work directly with equipment from vendors such as Dell, HPE, Cisco and Fujitsu
- Diagnose hardware faults and replace failed components
- Carry out full hardware validation and testing prior to customer shipment
- Document configurations, test results and system builds
- Prepare systems for secure packaging and delivery
- Support troubleshooting of hardware issues when required
What you’ll need:
- Proven hands-on experience working with enterprise IT hardware
- Experience installing, configuring and testing servers in a professional environment
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware-level faults independently
- Background in data centre, hardware refurbishment or system integration environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical, hardware-focused environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with network hardware such as switches and routers
- Experience working with enterprise storage systems
- Exposure to multiple vendors such as Dell, Cisco, HPE or Fujitsu
What’s on offer:
- Full time onsite role in Cheshunt
- Opportunity to work hands-on with enterprise-grade hardware daily
- Stable environment with consistent workload and clear processes
- Company pension and onsite parking
This role would suit someone who enjoys working directly with hardware, takes pride in precision and wants a role that is truly hands-on rather than desk-based.
