Contracts Manager – Civil Engineering • East Midlands • Permanent

We are working with a well-established, family-owned regional civil engineering contractor based in the East Midlands, who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to support their continued growth.

This is a business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the region, with a focus on long-term relationships, repeat business, and a down-to-earth, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

• Managing multiple live projects across the East Midlands
• Overseeing Site Managers, Engineers, and project teams
• Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Monitoring programme performance and driving progress on site
• Commercial awareness, working closely with QS teams to manage cost and value
• Building and maintaining client relationships, particularly with local authorities and developers
• Supporting pre-construction activities including planning and methodology input

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within civil engineering
• Strong background in highways, roads, Section 278 works, and groundworks
• Ability to manage multiple schemes concurrently
• Good commercial understanding and contractual awareness
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• SMSTS, CSCS and relevant industry qualifications
