Job Description:

Overview

  • Initiate and actively manage projects of varying size and complexity with significant strategic and/or commercial impact.
  • Work with key senior firm stakeholders to understand strategic outcomes and deliver them.
  • Day‑to‑day management of key projects and creation and maintenance of all associated project documentation including business cases, project plans, risks and issues, actions, decisions, steering committee preparation.
  • Help plan and design outcome‑focused projects, monitor progress against agreed parameters, identify key risks, resolve issues and initiate timely corrective action.
  • Deliver key activities.
  • Enable project sponsors to focus on setting direction, providing subject‑matter expertise, building advocacy and removing blockers.
  • Operate within the firm’s prescribed project delivery standards, known as the ‘Change Minimum Standards’.

Responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholders across the business to successfully deliver project outcomes at pace.
  • Understand the inflight and upcoming changes in project business requirements.
  • Day‑to‑day manage the project(s).
  • Act as the voice of business into the project(s).
  • Plan and design ‘outcome‑focused’ projects, monitor progress, identify risks, resolve issues and initiate corrective action.
  • Define the project’s governance framework.
  • Ensure underlying workstreams are coordinated.
  • Resolve risks and issues.
  • Support individuals on the project(s).
  • Ensure project integrity and coherence.
  • Monitor project budget and expenditure.
  • Help appoint additional staff into the project and underlying workstreams/activities.
  • Liaise with design authority, architecture teams, other IT teams, risk, dependent projects and product teams, suppliers.
  • Ensure outputs meet requirements within time, quality, cost constraints; timely escalation of risks if not.
  • Ensure efficiency of resources.
  • Liaise with third parties, draft workpackages as required.
  • Identify and initiate additional activities wherever gaps exist.
  • Submit regular reports to your sponsor and other governance forums.
  • Engage stakeholders effectively in liaison with sponsors.
  • Effectively hand over to business operations.
  • Champion the Change Minimum Standards.
  • Actively support assurance activities.

Qualifications

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills, including presentation skills.
  • Take personal responsibility for own decisions and actions, and those of others.
  • Proficient in project planning, including dependency and capacity management.
  • Experience in project delivery and workpackage oversight.
  • Strong communications and risk/issue management skills.
  • Ability to support, train, mentor and advise others within Operations PMO.
  • Drive improvements and champion change.
  • Experience of delivery and governance frameworks.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities.
