Cloud Engineer – National Security & Defence

Location: Manchester (Hybrid/3 days)

Security Note: Must have UK residency and be eligible for Government Security Clearance (DV clearance required later).

What You’ll Do

• Design and build cloud-native AWS architectures
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation
• Deploy and manage containerised workloads (Kubernetes, ECS, OpenShift)
• Write scripts in Python, Bash, Go, etc., to automate processes
• Apply security best practices and support safe software delivery
• Mentor colleagues and collaborate with stakeholders on complex projects

What We’re Looking For

• Strong AWS experience and enthusiasm to learn new services
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Networking knowledge, including software-defined networking in the cloud
• Scripting proficiency in at least one language
• Eligible for UK Government SC clearance
