An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a growing housing business.
This is a hands‑on, site‑based role, leading a team of surveyors while providing effective commercial management and control of multiple projects. The role is varied and deadline‑driven, so excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial and contractual administration of projects, ensuring the survey team delivers high‑quality work
- Provide effective commercial management and control of projects in line with contract terms and statutory requirements
- Maximise project margins while minimising risk exposure
- Support the delivery of business objectives and targets
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of surveyors to ensure performance and quality standards
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Proven experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the housebuilding or construction sector
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, contracts, and statutory requirements
- Excellent analytical skills and practical problem‑solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Customer‑focused with a delivery‑oriented mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other IT tools
- Full driving licence
