Principle Civil Design Engineer

I’m currently working with a client within the UK water sector that is looking to hire a Principle Civil Engineer at design level. This is a hands‑on engineering design role focused on water and wastewater treatment projects, supporting the delivery of cost‑effective and buildable technical solutions within a multi‑disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Producing and developing civil engineering design layouts for water/wastewater infrastructure
• Working closely with other disciplines including MEICA and process teams
• Ensuring designs meet technical standards, safety requirements, and constructability expectations
• Supporting project delivery from concept through to detailed design

Desirable Qualifications

• 8–10 year(s) experience within the UK water sector
• Experience in civil design within water and sewage treatment
• A strong understanding of plant layout and infrastructure design
• The ability to work effectively in a multi‑disciplinary engineering environment
• Degree in Engineering, chartered or equivalent

Offer

• Contract – 12 months rolling
• Rate – £550 per day (Inside IR35)
• Location – Derby
• Working arrangement: 3 days per week for the first 3 months – then relaxed to 2 days per week
