About the Team

SoundOn is an all‑in‑one platform powered by TikTok, designed to better service music creators through each step of their career — from TikTok integrated promotion tools to universal music distribution, from diverse monetization opportunities to smart music creation. This role will be based in either our London office.

About the Role

As the Global Music Distribution Operations Lead, you will own and optimise the end‑to‑end music distribution operations function. You will lead cross‑functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Data for the verticals of Distribution, Customer Support, Content Safety, Analytics, Royalties and Publishing, ensuring operational excellence at scale. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on execution and plays a critical role in shaping operational infrastructure, industry partnerships, and product‑driven process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global music distribution operations across all markets, ensuring consistency, accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop and evolve scalable operational frameworks to support multi‑region distribution workflows.
  • Define and track KPIs to improve operational efficiency, turnaround times and quality standards.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to enhance tooling, automation and system capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with DSP partners and global distribution stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Oversee governance across distribution operations, royalty workflows, publishing pipelines, content safety and customer service.
  • Identify operational risks and lead root‑cause analysis and remediation planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce manual intervention.
  • Mentor and support team members while fostering a high‑performance operational culture.
  • Represent the business line publicly at industry events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Significant experience in music distribution, DSPs, digital operations, or music tech environments.
  • Strong understanding of DSP delivery standards, policies, metadata frameworks and rights management workflows.
  • Pre‑established networks across industry content operations, and deep understanding of challenges within the digital music ecosystem.
  • Proven experience managing global or cross‑regional operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders, and external partners at senior levels within operations, licensing and BD functions.
  • Strong analytical and process optimisation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management capabilities, and the ability to confidently represent the division internally and externally.
