Transport Planner

Transport Planner – Astley, Manchester

Transportation Planner role for a bulk haulage fleet based in Astley, Manchester. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity.

Pay: Temp: £13–£18 per hour depending on experience. Permanent: £25,000–£35,000 per year depending on experience.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, office based in Astley.

Responsibilities

• Planning and allocating daily loads for a bulk haulage fleet.
• Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and industry standards.
• Supporting drivers with briefings, scheduling and general queries.
• Liaising with customers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve issues.
• Monitoring fleet utilisation and operational efficiency.
• Working closely with workshop teams to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant.

Requirements

• Previous transport planning or route planning experience (essential).
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office or similar systems).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
