First Choice Drainage Solutions is a growing company operating within the drainage and plumbing sector. We are looking for a motivated Junior Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a career in estimating, providing an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while gaining hands‑on experience in pricing works and analysing project requirements.
The successful candidate will assist in reviewing project documentation, obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations, and helping to compile competitive and commercially viable estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to understand project requirements.
- Support the estimating team in quantifying materials and labour requirements.
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Maintain and update cost databases and pricing records.
- Assist with preparing bills of quantities and take‑offs.
- Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, and subcontractors when required.
- Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within deadlines.
Skills and Experience
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications (desirable).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
- Previous experience in construction/engineering/commercial environments (desirable but not essential).
