Role: Commercial Installations Manager (Plant rooms)

Salary: Salary: c£50,000 – £52,000 + company vehicle + benefits package
The Commercial Installation Manager is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the full lifecycle of commercial heating, ventilation, and plumbing projects. Reporting to the Head of Installations, you will bridge the gap between initial mobilisation and final client handover, ensuring that our technical delivery is as seamless as our client relationships. This is a “hands-on” management role, requiring a deep understanding of commercial mechanical environments and the ability to mentor a high-performing engineering workforce.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of commercial installation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the “Phoenix Standard”.
- Strategically manage team capacity to ensure the consistent delivery of at least two major plant room installations per month.
- Develop and own project schedules, resource plans, and budgets, ensuring all works adhere to H&S and CDM regulations.
Team Growth & Technical Mentorship
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a dedicated team of commercial installation engineers.
- Take an active lead in the recruitment and onboarding of new delivery teams to meet increasing department targets.
- Conduct regular technical reviews and performance 1-to-1s to drive continuous improvement within the field team.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for commercial clients, providing professional updates and conducting on-site walkthroughs.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales and Tendering teams to provide technical input, ensuring proposed solutions are feasible and commercially viable.
- Assist in the development of project proposals and cost estimates to help achieve divisional growth targets.

- Project Delivery: 100% on-time completion of scheduled plant room and commercial installations.
- Financial Performance: Delivery of projects within agreed budget margins and resource allocations.
- Safety & Compliance: Zero reportable safety incidents and 100% compliance with site-specific RAMS.
- Team Growth: Successful recruitment and retention of additional delivery teams in line with the growth roadmap.
- Client Satisfaction: Positive post-handover feedback and achievement of client-specific KPIs.
Person Specification
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role within the Commercial HVAC, Plumbing, or Heating sectors.
- Proven track record in managing complex plant room installations and large-scale mechanical projects.
- Relevant mechanical/plumbing qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds) and Commercial Gas ACS.
