Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in expanding market presence, securing new clients, and contributing to long-term business success. You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and delivering measurable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through research, networking, and lead generation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Create and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitors, and growth opportunities
- Prepare and present proposals, sales materials, and contracts
- Negotiate and close high-value deals
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, NPI, finance) to ensure smooth project delivery
- Monitor and report on sales performance and KPIs
- Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions
What’s on Offer
- Salary: £40,000 per annum
- Car Allowance: £350 per month
- Option of company car after successful 6-month probation
- Bonus: Up to 5% of realised profit on new business (discretionary)
- Working Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00
- Friday: 07:00 – 13:00
- Location: Birmingham office (hybrid working available after 3 months)
- Holiday: 30 days including bank holidays + Christmas shutdown
- Pension: Salary sacrifice scheme (5% employee / 4% employer after 3 months)
- Probation: 6 months
About You
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build long-term client relationships
- Commercially driven with a results-focused mindset
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or CNC sectors is highly desirable
