Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in expanding market presence, securing new clients, and contributing to long-term business success. You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and delivering measurable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through research, networking, and lead generation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
  • Create and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitors, and growth opportunities
  • Prepare and present proposals, sales materials, and contracts
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals
  • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, NPI, finance) to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Monitor and report on sales performance and KPIs
  • Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions

What’s on Offer

  • Salary: £40,000 per annum
  • Car Allowance: £350 per month
  • Option of company car after successful 6-month probation
  • Bonus: Up to 5% of realised profit on new business (discretionary)
  • Working Hours:
    • Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00
    • Friday: 07:00 – 13:00
  • Location: Birmingham office (hybrid working available after 3 months)
  • Holiday: 30 days including bank holidays + Christmas shutdown
  • Pension: Salary sacrifice scheme (5% employee / 4% employer after 3 months)
  • Probation: 6 months

About You

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build long-term client relationships
  • Commercially driven with a results-focused mindset
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or CNC sectors is highly desirable
