Job Description

The role of the Nursing Associate is to work with the Registered Nurse and other members of the multi-professional team, providing and monitoring care and contributing to ongoing assessment, as agreed with supervising clinician(s) and in line with the service pathways. They will monitor the condition and health needs of people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with the multi‑professional team.

The nursing associate will provide support and intervention to children, young people and families within a delegated caseload. Their primary focus will be on Manchester’s key public health priorities, including healthy lifestyles, weight management, relationships and sex education, and mental health. The post holder will work with colleagues in the Healthy Child Programme and the wider School Nursing team to ensure a coordinated approach across the public health agenda. They will be supported by Health Improvement Practitioner Specialists within Healthy Schools to deliver high‑quality public health education sessions to young people, parents and staff within schools.

In addition, the post holder will provide support and co‑ordinate with screening requests to include audiology, orthoptics and NCMP.
