Head of Logistics

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Logistics to lead and optimise end-to-end supply chain operations for a leading multi channel retail business. This is a senior leadership role, responsible for ensuring products move efficiently from supplier to customer, while driving cost control, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

You’ll oversee third-party warehousing, manage international freight operations, own ecommerce carrier performance, enhance customer delivery experiences, and develop a high-performing logistics team.

Key Responsibilities

3PL & Partner Management

• Lead and manage relationships with 3PL providers, ensuring performance against SLAs and KPIs
• Negotiate contracts, monitor costs, and drive service improvements
• Hold partners accountable for operational excellence and scalability

Freight & Customs

• Oversee inbound and outbound freight forwarding across global routes
• Optimise shipping modes, routes, and costs while maintaining delivery timelines
• Ensure compliance with all import/export regulations and documentation

Ecommerce Carrier Management

• Own relationships with last-mile and parcel carriers, ensuring strong performance across delivery speed, cost, and reliability
• Negotiate carrier contracts and rate cards to support growth and margin improvement
• Monitor carrier KPIs (on-time delivery, failed delivery rates, claims, etc.) and drive continuous improvement
• Develop and optimise carrier mix and routing strategies across regions
• Work closely with tech and operations teams to improve tracking, visibility, and delivery communications

Customer Experience

• Own the end-to-end delivery experience, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
• Work cross-functionally with customer service teams to resolve delivery issues
• Implement initiatives to improve delivery speed, reliability, and transparency

Process Improvement & Strategy

• Identify and implement process improvements across warehousing, transport, and fulfilment
• Use data and analytics to drive operational efficiencies and cost savings
• Lead automation, systems improvements, and scalability initiatives

Team Leadership

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing logistics team
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
• Set clear goals, monitor performance, and support professional development

Applicants should have:

• Proven experience in a senior logistics or supply chain leadership role within retail or e-commerce environment
• Strong experience managing 3PL providers, ecommerce carriers, and freight forwarding operations
• Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain and distribution networks
• Track record of driving operational improvements and cost efficiencies
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
