Our global client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a new Senior Commercial Finance Manager to join their team in Central London. This is a key position, with direct line management duties of junior Commercial Finance Analysts, strong progression structures and global exposure.

Key responsibilities

Commercial Finance & FP&A Leadership:

  • Own and manage the global customer forecasting process, working closely with regional finance and commercial teams.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles, including setting timetables, defining inputs and ensuring high-quality outputs aligned to group deadlines.
  • Act as a senior FP&A partner to the business, translating financial data into clear commercial insight and recommendations.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of P&L and balance sheet performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.

Forecasting Transformation & Systems:

  • Take commercial finance ownership of a new AI-enabled forecasting tool, ensuring it is embedded effectively within forecasting and reporting processes.
  • Partner with systems, data and finance transformation teams to ensure forecasting outputs are robust, scalable and commercially relevant.

Executive & C-Suite Reporting:

  • Own the end-to-end execution of senior executive and C-suite reporting, including board-level packs.
  • Ensure reporting is clear, insightful and accompanied by strong narrative and commentary that supports decision-making.
  • Act as a trusted finance liaison to senior leadership, proactively addressing questions and challenges from the executive team.

Business Partnering:

  • Serve as the lead finance partner to senior commercial and sales leadership, including close collaboration with senior sales stakeholders.
  • Partner extensively with regional and country finance teams across Europe and globally, driving alignment and consistency.
  • Influence senior stakeholders through insight-led discussion rather than purely technical finance outputs.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Line-manage at least one direct report, providing coaching, development and technical guidance.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of the Commercial Finance function, with potential for additional headcount as the business grows.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), with strong industry experience in a commercial environment, with manufacturing or FMCG exposure being ideal. Strong analytical and commercial understanding will be necessary to deliver accurate and insightful analysis and commentary. Excel and general systems understanding is necessary, along with enthusiasm for systems/AI development and efficiency.
