Job Description:

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical building services design across a range of major projects. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, supporting the development of junior engineers while contributing directly to client relationships and project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design of building services systems from concept through to detailed design and construction stages.
  • Deliver electrical design for projects across sectors such as industrial facilities, commercial office developments and education buildings.
  • Produce and review technical calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
  • Design and coordinate systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, data/communications and building services infrastructure.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers, structural engineers, architects and contractors to deliver coordinated project solutions.
  • Support the mentoring and development of junior engineers and technicians within the team.
  • Attend client meetings, design team meetings and site visits.
  • Contribute to technical excellence, innovation and sustainable design solutions across projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience delivering electrical design within the building services sector.
  • Experience working across sectors such as commercial offices, industrial facilities or education projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and electrical design standards.Experience using design software such as Amtech, Dialux, Relux or similar.
  • Familiarity with Revit / BIM environments would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Working towards or already achieved professional chartership (e.g., CEng) would be desirable.
