Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design & Delivery

• Lead electrical engineering activities across water and wastewater infrastructure schemes, including treatment facilities, pumping installations, and wider network assets.
• Develop and review electrical designs, calculations, specifications, schedules, and technical drawings in line with project requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, legislation, and health & safety obligations.
• Identify safe, reliable, and cost–effective electrical solutions through optioneering and value engineering.
• Provide technical input through construction, commissioning, and handover stages.

Power, Control & Instrumentation

• Design and specify LV power distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, UPS, and standby power solutions.
• Produce earthing, lightning protection, and cable sizing designs.
• Coordinate with control and instrumentation specialists to ensure alignment with control systems, instrumentation, and telemetry requirements.
• Review technical submissions from suppliers and contractors, including FAT and SAT documentation.

Project & Stakeholder Interface

• Work collaboratively with mechanical, civil, process, and control disciplines to deliver coordinated engineering solutions.
• Engage with project stakeholders including contractors, suppliers, and operational teams.
• Contribute to design reviews, risk workshops, constructability reviews, and safety assessments.

Mentorship & Quality Assurance

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and developing engineers.
• Carry out technical reviews and approvals of designs produced by others.
• Support the ongoing development and improvement of engineering standards, templates, and best practice.
