Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer to join our dynamic Power Systems Study team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing expert analysis and strategic guidance to clients, mainly in power distribution systems. As a Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing network models, assessing and recommending appropriate asset sizing (transformers, cables, circuit breakers, etc.), performing simulation studies (power flow, reactive compensation, short‑circuit, stability, relay setting, arc‑flash, etc.), and delivering actionable insights to optimize clients’ operations.
Job Responsibilities
As a valuable member of our Power Systems team, you will play a crucial role in supporting related projects by leveraging strong technical skills to deliver top‑notch consulting services. Your responsibilities will include conducting in‑depth analyses of power networks, encompassing supply and demand dynamics, and regulatory changes; gathering modeling inputs; performing power system simulations; preparing deliverables and report writing; actively collaborating with clients to address operational risks and regulatory norms; and offering strategic advice and actionable recommendations to enhance decision‑making processes. Utilizing advanced analytics and modeling tools, you will interpret large datasets, perform simulations, and validate models to simulate various operating scenarios, providing diverse growth opportunities within the field of Power Systems.
Essential Qualifications
- M.E./M.Tech/M.S./Post‑Graduation in disciplines such as Power Systems, Power Management, Energy Management, or a related field.
- B.E./B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering or a pertinent field.
- Strong background in power systems dynamics, operations, protection, etc., particularly in distribution systems.
- Familiarity with power system tools like SKM, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, ETAP, or other similar simulation tools.
- Suitable authorization/certification for performing the required studies (particularly arc‑flash studies) and visiting facilities for inspection and data collection.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey intricate concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Robust problem‑solving capabilities and a proactive approach to identifying and overcoming challenges.
- Proficient in collaborative teamwork, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects concurrently.
Desirable Qualifications
- Additional advantage for candidates with relevant experience.
- Proficient in utilizing data analysis and modeling tools such as Excel, Python, and R.
- Acquaintance with regulatory frameworks, grid codes, and reliability standards influencing the power system.
- Demonstrated success in applying innovative approaches to tackle intricate challenges within the power system.
- Research publications in reputed conferences/journals.
Benefits
Travel Allowance / Travel Expenses will be paid separately, apart from the salary / hourly pay rate.
