Patient Flow Coordinator – Emergency Department (Princess Royal Hospital, Telford)

The post holder will be a member of the Emergency Department Team and will work directly with the ED Nurse Coordinator to manage all attendances, admissions, and discharges for Emergency Department patients. The role will facilitate efficient, effective and timely management of patient diagnostics, decisions and utilisation of beds and resources.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating patient flow from arrival to discharge
• Ensuring accurate and timely completion of diagnostic tests and clinical decisions
• Optimising bed usage and resource allocation within the ED
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary staff to support patient care
• Maintaining accurate records of attendances, admissions, and discharges

• Effective communication skills for working with a multidisciplinary team

Relocation: The service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of the Hospital Transformation Programme. Successful candidates are expected to move with the service in early 2028.
