Consultant in Learning Disability Psychiatry (Airdrie and Wishaw localities)

Overview

NHS Lanarkshire offers a full‑time (10 PA) consultant post based at Kirklands Hospital, Bothwell, covering the Airdrie and Wishaw localities of North Lanarkshire. The role involves providing outpatient consultant input to the service and working closely with a Specialist Doctor. A short commute from Glasgow places the post in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outpatient consultant services to patients in Airdrie and Wishaw localities.
  • Coordinate with the Specialist Doctor and multidisciplinary team for patient care and recovery.
  • Participate in service planning, appraisal and revalidation activities within a 1 PA framework.
  • Develop and propose additional SPA time for quality improvement, patient safety training, medical education, research, or medical appraisal duties.
  • Operate in line with approved funding, including potential EPA allocation for extra clinical activity.
