Job Description

We’re looking for an Oracle Fusion HCM Technical Consultant to implement and support Data Conversion with expertise in HDL & BIP in Core HR, Absence, and Payroll modules for UK public sector clients. The role requires expert knowledge of UK payroll processes and proven experience with Oracle Global Payroll/Absence Cloud, guiding projects through the SDLC and translating complex solutions for diverse audiences.

Your Role

As an Oracle Fusion HCM Consultant, you will implement and support Oracle Fusion HCM modules—including Absence Management and Payroll—for UK public sector clients. Your responsibilities include data migration, report development, and ensuring smooth delivery and top system performance throughout the SDLC. You will lead client engagements, discuss integrations and data migrations, and translate complex technical solutions into clear insights for stakeholders ranging from technical teams to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the implementation of Oracle Fusion HCM, focusing on Absence, Core HR, and Payroll modules for UK clients, with special emphasis on Data Conversion and Reports Development.
  • Demonstrate expert proficiency in all aspects of UK Payroll, Pension, and Absence processes.
  • Apply hands‑on experience in Oracle Global Payroll/Absence Cloud within the UK public sector.
  • Conduct System Integration Testing, support User Acceptance Testing, Payroll Parallel Reconciliation (PPR), and hyper‑care support.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of HCM technical tools, including HCM Data Loader (HDL), HCM Extract, BI reporting, Fast Formulas, and Payroll Batch Loader.
  • Effectively communicate complex technology solutions to diverse audiences, including technical, business, and management teams; walk through Business Process Specification documents, Configuration Workbooks, Testing, and Change Requests.
  • Lead customer discussions on integrations, data migrations, and reports related to Payroll, Core HR, Absence, and other relevant modules.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge and experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Conference Room pilots (CRPs), playback sessions, training content preparation, and training delivery.

Required

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience implementing Oracle Fusion HCM for Absence, Core HR, and Payroll modules in the UK.
  • Proficiency in all UK Payroll, Pension, and Absence processes.
  • Hands‑on experience with Oracle Global Payroll/Absence Cloud for UK public sector clients.
  • Knowledgeable in HCM technical tools: HDL, HCM Extract, BI reporting, Fast Formulae, Payroll Batch Loader.
  • Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to technical, business, and managerial teams.
  • Lead discussions with customer teams on integrations, data migrations, and reporting across payroll, Core HR, and Absence.
  • Experience with the full SDLC lifecycle.
  • Preparation of status reports with RAG, risk mitigation, and maintenance of a RAID log.

  • Excellent planning skills for release and delivery planning.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience with Lean / Agile development methodologies.
