Purchasing Manager
About Us: Solrise Private Ltd T/A Birstall Groceries, located at 1 The Meadway, Birstall, Leicester, is a growing neighbourhood convenience store and licensed off‑licence. We offer groceries, fresh produce, dairy items, household essentials, tobacco products, a wide range of beers, wines and spirits, as well as SIM cards and phone accessories. Parcel services are available through Amazon, DHL and Royal Mail, with bill payments and top‑ups via PayPoint. Our expanding business requires reliable staff to support daily store operations, manage stock, assist with service counters and maintain high customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, direct and coordinate all buying activities to ensure cost‑effective purchases.
- Develop buying strategies, research the market, negotiate prices and delivery terms, and work with suppliers to keep stock available at all times.
- Monitor stock levels, forecast demand based on sales trends and local events, and plan extra stock for high‑footfall days.
- Manage stock rotation, reduce waste and ensure all purchases comply with alcohol, tobacco and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee inventory for parcel services (UPS, DHL, Amazon) and PayPoint.
- Maintain accurate records for audits, monitor budgets and use digital systems to streamline ordering and keep product availability up to date both in‑store and online.
Salary Range
£38,500 to £55,000, depending on experience.
