Overview
We are currently searching for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support our maintenance team. You will provide excellent electrical engineering support across the site, ensuring machines, equipment and property are all maintained to keep production maximised while working to planned schedules.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Liaise with the Engineering Manager daily to keep machine downtime to a minimum
- Identify and solve day‑to‑day maintenance problems
- Perform PPM (planned preventative maintenance) schedules as required
- Participate in projects and continuous improvements
- Carry out duties from the maintenance non‑urgent job list
- Accurately complete all documentation in a timely fashion
- Accurately create and update relevant SOPs as necessary
- Maintain machine and plant – solve issues promptly
- Carry out maintenance activities on buildings, plant and facilities to improve quality and cost‑effectiveness
- Ensure availability of spare machine parts while keeping costs to a minimum
- Set up various packaging machinery as required and assist with installation of new equipment
- Provide machine setup and support TPM plans in collaboration with the site
- Communicate effectively with the team and inform the Engineering Manager of any machine faults or difficulties at any time
- Provide training and coaching to other employees and team members as required in line with our one‑team ethos
What We Are Looking For
- A time‑served electrician or electrical engineer / recognized engineering trade apprenticeship and/or HNC in electrical engineering (236 City and Guilds)
- Proven experience within the FMCG manufacturing sector
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of electrical control systems
- Experience and good understanding of fault finding, 3‑phase and single‑phase motors, pumps, relays, sensors and drives
- Solid mechanical skills – chains, gears, bearings and seals
- Computer literate, good general understanding of Microsoft Suite including Excel and Outlook
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to be proactive and make sound decisions to resolve situations
- Previous experience in a clean manufacturing / factory environment, preferably in food or pharmaceutical industry – desirable
- Experience working with a wide range of manufacturing and packaging machinery – desirable
