Head of Business Development – The Portland Hospital

Location: The Portland Hospital, LondonHours: 37.5 hrs per week, Monday – FridaySalary: Competitive, dependent on skills & experience plus annual bonus

Overview

The Head of Business Development will be responsible for delivering substantial revenue growth in line with the hospital’s strategic objectives, through the design and implementation of a business development plan and operational management of key functions that support growth. The role has operational and senior‑management responsibilities for Consultant Liaison / Business Development, Marketing and Events.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the CEO, accountably shape and execute the hospital development strategy aligned to the wider HCA UK growth strategy.
  • Lead on‑ground business development and consultant liaison, championing delivery of set strategies.
  • Secure new customers from all sectors and gain market share for HCA.
  • Create and implement an annual sales and marketing plan linked to revenue generation targets, with key objectives and tactics for each core customer group.
  • Align sales activity with other hospitals and Corporate HCA departments.
  • Maximise growth opportunities for the hospital and wider HCA Group.
  • Maintain positive business relationships with HCA’s key stakeholders, including consultants.
  • Comply with H &S policies and personal safety responsibilities.
  • Liaise closely with Legal, Finance, and administrative teams to ensure compliance with HCA policies, procedures and government regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of business development / stakeholder management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of operational / people management experience.
  • Senior manager level experience, SME to SMT level.
  • Clinical experience / management of clinical departments is valuable but not essential.
  • Degree level education or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Preferably an MBA or Master’s degree in Business or Communications/Marketing.
