Business Development Manager – Roofing Distribution Team

About Roofing Distribution & Roof Assured by Sika

The Roofing Distribution team services the UK roofing market with a range of PVC single ply membranes, PU liquid‑applied membranes, RBM reinforced bituminous membranes, GRP liquid‑applied membranes, pitched roof membranes, and related ancillary products, adhesives, sealants and primers. Installer training is offered for all Roof Assured by Sika waterproofing systems to support correct installation in line with British Standards and industry guidelines. After training, homeowner and domestic lead opportunities are passed to the approved installer network.

About the UK role

We are looking for a field salesperson to join our Southern regional Roofing Distribution team, which covers the South West and South Wales area. The successful candidate will be responsible for all Roofing Distribution account customers within the territory and will ideally live within the region.

There are three main customer types who are to be supported as part of this role: homeowners, installers and stockists. Each have different needs but are linked together, requiring good communication, presentation, and organisational skills. An aptitude to learn technical aspects of the product range will be an advantage.

  • Homeowners – assist, qualify, collate and support enquiries which in turn are passed to the approved Roof Assured by Sika installers.
  • Installers – assist with technical queries, provide product information, engage with leads and support installer training programmes as required.
  • Stockists – assist with all product and information queries, proactively source new customers for each branch, engage through all communication methods and host Roof Assured by Sika Open Mornings to promote the ranges and recruit new installers.

Roofing Distribution customers cover all areas of Sika UK Target Markets, so close collaboration with all Target Market colleagues will be essential.

The Southern team includes 3 Business Development Managers and the role is suitable for an individual who is proactive, has strong relationship‑building skills, enthusiasm and a desire to succeed.

To maximise sales and profitability through education and relationship management of customers and potential customers within the Roofing Distribution Market.

Support

The Roofing Distribution team values trust, honesty, respect, motivation and fun, and works collaboratively. You will work alongside the Southern Regional Manager and the wider team driving Roofing Distribution in‑direct product and service offerings forward strategically to complement the wider business. Product training and joint visits will support your understanding of the business model, opportunities and market needs.

Qualifications

Strong field sales experience within the construction industry and strategic management of the area to maximise sales and profitability.

  • Product and industry knowledge (advantageous).
  • Ability to develop strong customer relationships.
  • IT literate with working knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self‑motivated and results‑driven.
  • Commitment to ongoing development, including a comprehensive local product knowledge and leadership development initiative complemented by a global Sika Business School offering.
