Working Pattern
The post is supported by the MOJ flexible working policy and includes colleagues who work flexibly, remotely (hybrid working), part‑time or as part of a job share. If applying for a part‑time role, the post requires a minimum of 22.2 hours and coverage of three days a week. If aged between 16 and 18, a successful candidate will be required to complete an apprenticeship after initial on‑the‑job training.

About the Legal Aid Agency
We are an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice responsible for operationally administering the legal aid fund to provide criminal and civil legal aid advice to people in England and Wales. Contract Management and Assurance
Contract Management and Assurance (CMA) works closely with our provider base to ensure the smooth running of our contracts and assure the delivery of legal aid. They collaborate with other LAA departments to interpret and apply the contract to providers, ensuring quality services, analysing data to manage risk, and influencing providers to improve performance. The Brighton team consists of five SEO Grade Contract Managers and one Grade 7 Area Contract Manager.
Job Summary
- Manage relationships with Legal Aid Providers – solicitor firms and advice agencies – and other key external stakeholders.
- Ensure robust management of a portfolio of provider contracts in line with business priorities throughout defined geographical areas in England and Wales.
- Act as the main point of contact for providers and internal LAA departments on all funded work.
- Provide insights and information on the provider base to the MoJ.
- Develop and manage relationships with external stakeholders, predominantly within the Justice family, to manage local political and reputational risk to the organisation and the MoJ.
