Care UK is an awarding‑winning private care company with over 250 care homes across the United Kingdom. We are seeking an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our dedicated Property team.

The role

The role will lead, plan and deliver building‑related projects, primarily minor works with a key responsibility for the unit (bedroom) refurbishment programme which is anticipated to be renewed annually. The role may also include involvement in major refurbishment projects, the Capital Asset Replacement programme and Health & Safety remedial works, collaborating with colleagues in the team and consultants. The position is field‑based and requires regular visits to the care homes to which the programmes are relevant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scoping of building works required, meeting contractors on site, reviewing proposals and instructing work.
  • Regular visits to site to review progress, check quality, instruct variations and sign off works as complete.
  • Preparation and management of snagging lists.
  • Monitor work on site in accordance with the contractors’ method statements and construction health & safety plan.
  • Planning of projects at an individual and portfolio level in a clear logistical format to minimise disruption at home level.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within a regulated industry; experience in the care industry is desirable.
  • Experience dealing with contractors and suppliers.
  • Experience exercising budgetary control with good understanding of financial management across revenue and capital expenditure.
  • Experience of leading on projects and delegating, instructing and motivating others.
  • Awareness of (including training compliance) and applying all related and current legislation – personally, to the Home and wider company.
  • Understand and implement safeguarding in accordance with current legislation and best practice.
