Role Description

Low Carbon Europe (LCE) is seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our REMS. This role is focused on identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across key sectors, including healthcare, higher education, pharmaceuticals, retail and government.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding LCE’s client base by promoting REMS as a high-value, cost-saving, and carbon-reducing service. This is a client-facing role requiring strong communication skills, sector insight, and the ability to build long-term strategic relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities aligned with LCE’s REMS offering
  • Generate and manage a strong pipeline of qualified leads
  • Lead the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to contract award
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and business cases
  • Achieve agreed sales targets and revenue growth objectives

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers across target sectors
  • Leverage existing contacts and networks to accelerate market entry
  • Understand client needs and align REMS solutions to deliver measurable value
  • Act as a trusted advisor on energy management and sustainability

Market & Sector Development

  • Develop sector-specific strategies for healthcare, higher education, pharmaceuticals, retail and government
  • Monitor market trends, policy drivers (e.g., net zero targets) and funding mechanisms
  • Represent LCE at industry events, conferences, and networking forums

Collaboration & Internal Support

  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure accurate and deliverable proposals
  • Provide market feedback to support service development and innovationContribute to marketing content, case studies, and promotional materials

Key Requirements

Experience

  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or account management
  • Experience in energy, sustainability, building services, or related sectors preferred
  • Established contacts and/or previous clients within healthcare, retail, higher education, or government sectors highly desirable

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to articulate value propositions
  • Ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and convert opportunities

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, energy, business)
  • Professional memberships (desirable but not essential)
