We’re looking for a driven Senior Construction Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take full ownership of delivering high-quality, industry-leading civil engineering projects.
This is a senior site leadership role where you’ll be responsible for operational delivery, safety performance, team development, and coordination across complex construction activities.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading day-to-day site operations and ensuring inspections are completed to a high standard
- Driving a strong safety culture through inductions, toolbox talks, briefings, and PPE compliance
- Encouraging proactive reporting and continuous improvement across site teams
- Coordinating trade teams to deliver high-quality work safely and on programme
- Carrying out regular inspections of works, plant, equipment, and materials
- Managing site logistics including deliveries, and on/off hire of plant and equipment
- Maintaining accurate site records, allocation sheets, and reporting
- Providing technical input into programmes and supporting practical problem-solving
- Keeping Project Managers updated on progress, workforce capability, and quality standards
- Maintaining high standards of site presentation, welfare, and housekeeping
- Leading, coaching, and developing supervisors and site teams, including workforce planning and performance management
- Supporting commercial awareness across labour, plant, and materials
- Promoting a positive, accountable, and high-performing site culture
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Construction Manager
- At least 3 years as a Non-Working Front Line Supervisor and 5 years in supervisory construction roles
- NVQ Level 5 or 6 in Construction Management (or equivalent experience)
- SMSTS and relevant site safety qualifications (e.g. PASMA, Working at Height, MEWPs for Managers)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, safe systems of work, and site compliance
- Confident leader with the ability to motivate teams and manage performance
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with clients and stakeholders
- Good commercial awareness (labour, plant, materials)
- Calm, organised, and solutions-focused approach to site delivery
- Strong commitment to health & safety, quality, and continuous improvement
