A leading software provider is seeking a Senior Technology Leader with deep software engineering expertise to drive modern software development practices, lead architectural direction and own the AI strategy for their next generation ERP platform.
This is a senior technical leadership position designed for an engineering expert, not a delivery manager. You will work closely with a Development Manager, Team Lead and domain specialists, providing the technical authority needed to raise engineering standards, modernise their platform and embed AI enabled capabilities into their product suite.
We are looking for someone who has built modern engineering environments first hand and can credibly coach others to do the same.
About the Role
The Senior Technology Leader will be responsible for establishing engineering excellence across the organisation. Your remit spans technical standards, cloud native architecture, automation, AI and MLOps, and the evolution of their software engineering culture. You will influence product direction and play a central role in shaping the technical future of their ERP system.
You must have:
- A background as a hands on software engineer before moving into senior leadership (Head of Engineering/Director of Engineering/VP of Engineering/CTO)
- Deep, practical knowledge of modern software development, including:
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps culture
- Automated testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E)
- Microservices and cloud native architecture
- Containers and orchestration (eg Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of modern programming stacks (eg Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, etc.)
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and managers on technical practices you have personally implemented
- Current technical knowledge (not dated or purely strategic)
