We’re looking for a Business Administrator who’s committed to supporting children’s growth and learning, to join the Happy Days team at our Derriford nursery, Plymouth.
Our Business Administrator will work 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, supporting the nursery’s occupancy, commercial performance and day-to‑day operations.
About the role
- Manage applications for nursery education funding, ensuring accuracy and adherence to local authority and internal deadlines.
- Provide administrative and operational support, including preparing documents, liaising with families, suppliers, and team members, and welcoming visitors.
- Assist with achieving occupancy, gross profit, and budget targets through financial tasks such as expense tracking, payroll, banking, and credit control.
- Maintain compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
- Ensure accurate record‑keeping and efficient archiving in line with company procedures.
About you
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Strong administrative skills with experience in a fast‑paced setting.
- Commercially aware with excellent organisational skills.
- Outstanding communication and relationship‑building abilities, especially with parents and external stakeholders.
- Initiative and problem‑solving capabilities, able to work under pressure.
