Quality Assistant – Food Manufacturing – Edinburgh – £32,500

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assistant to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring food safety, quality standards, and compliance are maintained across a dedicated production site. There is genuine progression available in a business that cares deeply for the employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out quality checks to ensure compliance with food safety and customer standards
• Conduct gluten sampling of raw materials and finished products, coordinating with external laboratories
• Identify non-conforming products and support corrective actions
• Maintain accurate process control documentation and quality records
• Support internal audits, HACCP processes, and food safety systems
• Assist with allergen, microbiological, and product testing
• Investigate quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement
• Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with retailer standards

About You

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a food manufacturing quality role
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, and food safety systems
• Experience in internal auditing and quality reporting
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident communicator with a proactive, “can-do” attitude
• Food-related qualification (desirable)
