Overview

Business Development Manager Responsibilities
- Generate new business sales for the company by selling our technology products and/or services through calling, networking, or other means of lead generation.
- Work on opportunities for campaigns, services and distribution channels leading to increased sales.
- Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Encourage and implement improvements in sales processes and client engagement strategies to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure alignment of business development activities with broader organisational goals.
- Complete relevant H&S training and follow appropriate H&S guidance in relation to the role.
What you’ll be doing

What we are looking for
- A comprehensive understanding and technical sales experience within the technology service sector.
- Proven experience in developing new business including solutions sales, consultancy and experience within IT Services and Managed Services Industry.
- Understanding of current technologies (Cloud services, cyber‑security, data management, managed support, virtualisation, connectivity, etc).
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills in a sales context with the ability to bring new business to a close.
- Strong commercial acumen, understanding the goals and priorities of the business and demonstrating good business judgment.
- Excellent service and customer relations orientation.
- Driven to achieve results without losing sight of the company goals and their role.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching junior colleagues or team members.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements in a sales or business development context.
- Builds trusted relationships across OryxAlign and externally, fostering collaboration and service excellence.
- Acts as a role model for company values, promoting a culture of inclusion, learning and continuous improvement.
- Communicates clearly and effectively, adapting style to audience and context.
- Adopts a mature approach to continuous learning and development, including in support of the company’s longer‑term objectives.
- Maintains a high level of personal accountability, resilience, and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
- Confidential to handle sensitive information both internally and externally.
- Demonstrates commercial awareness by considering financial implications when developing proposals and managing client accounts.
Qualifications
- Good standard of education.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. ITIL, CISSP, CompTIA Security+).
- Degree qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
- Professional certifications in IT, sales, or service management (e.g. ITIL, CISSP, CompTIA Security+) are advantageous.
