We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant (Flexible Day Rota) to join our team and help make a positive difference to the lives of our residents every day.

As a Care Assistant, you will provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs, helping residents maintain their independence, dignity and wellbeing. Working as part of a caring and professional team, you will build meaningful relationships with residents and contribute to creating a safe, comfortable and fulfilling home environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and flexibility, and who is passionate about delivering outstanding care.

Main duties of the job

As a Care Practitioner, your role will include:

  • Assisting residents with personal care, mealtimes and daily routines
  • Conducting regular safety and welfare checks on all residents
  • Accurately documenting and updating care records and reports
  • Managing and administering medications in line with care plans and policies
  • Responding promptly to residents needs, including addressing any emergencies or changes in health
  • Supporting and assisting new or less-experienced team members
  • Helping maintain a clean and safe environment, including performing light housekeeping tasks as needed
  • Collaborating with the day shift team for a smooth handover and continuity of care

Job responsibilities

The Care Assistant (Flexible Day Rota) is responsible for delivering safe, effective and person-centred care that supports residents’ physical, emotional and social wellbeing. The postholder will assist residents with daily routines and provide practical and emotional support while promoting independence and maintaining dignity at all times.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a positive and supportive environment where residents feel valued, respected and cared for. The role requires excellent communication skills, a compassionate approach and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care.

Person Specification

Experience

  • A caring and positive attitude
  • Genuine interest in health and social care (previous experience is beneficial but not essential)
  • Ability to work independently
