Overview

Social Worker – Cheshire West and Chester Council. Are you an experienced social worker passionate about making a positive difference in children’s lives? We are currently seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our Permanence Team based in Ellesmere Port. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to critical family and children services through a 13-month contract, with competitive pay rates and a supportive working environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing a manageable caseload with the support of supervision and team resources
• Conducting assessments, planning, and reviewing case progress
• Developing and implementing permanency plans tailored to each child’s needs
• Working collaboratively with foster carers, adoptive families, and external agencies
• Upholding safeguarding standards at all times
• Maintaining detailed, accurate case records in line with policy and statutory requirements
• Participating in regular team meetings, supervision, and CPD activities

Candidate Responsibilities

• Bring significant experience working within a Permanence Team or with Children in Care
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Have a full UK driving license and reside within reasonable distance to Ellesmere Port (please indicate location on CV)
• Be prepared to work hybrid, with regular presence at our Ellesmere Port office
