Overview
The role of Commercial Director for Health Innovation North West Coast offers a pivotal opportunity to contribute to a region positioned as a national centre for health innovation and life sciences. This role follows the NHS 10 Year Plan and the Government’s Life Sciences Sector Plan, with a focus on science, technology and patient empowerment to foster proactive, AI-enabled care.
The role leads a team of 15 and combines business development, leadership, and NHS-facing collaboration to drive growth through strategic partnerships with industry, the NHS and regional stakeholders. It is an executive director level position with autonomy and opportunities to work with global pharmaceutical, med-tech and digital companies while supporting SMEs and building on successful programme funding.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of income generation and business development functions.
- Manage the delivery of work for the Office for Life Sciences and NHS England.
- Drive growth strategy through development and harnessing of relationships in industry, the region and the NHS.
- Provide strategic leadership and executive direction to the team of 15, fostering pace and transformational leadership.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience leading business development functions and developing meaningful strategic partnerships across multiple sectors.
- Experience working with national bodies and understanding of how to navigate complex healthcare systems.
- Strong project management skills and sound financial literacy.
- Ability to work with pace and demonstrate transformational leadership.
