Overview

CAMHs – Learning Disabilities Tees has a vacancy at Baysdale Respite Service in Middlesbrough for a Registered Staff Nurse (fixed term 9 months). The service provides care to children with profound and multiple learning disabilities, secondary physical complexities, behaviours that challenge and autism. The service runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week; nights and weekends are an expectation of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support personal care needs of children.
• Administer medication.
• Assess and monitor physical/mental health issues.
• Liaise with other professionals regarding any concerns.
• Conduct physical health monitoring for children with complex comorbidities.

Qualifications and Attributes

• Right to work in the UK.
• Background in physical health monitoring and clinical skills desirable; training available for those not skilled.
• Strong communication skills; calm, confident and resilient.
• Ability to form therapeutic relationships with people with learning disabilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, delegation and initiative.
