Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Havant – £55,000-£70,000 dependent on experience

We are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a well‑established manufacturing business based in Havant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global leader in its sector and a company we know well, having previously recruited successfully into the team, including the manager this role reports to.

The role will suit either an existing Senior Mechanical Design Engineer or a strong Mechanical Design Engineer looking to step up into a more senior position within a specialist engineering and manufacturing environment.

The Role

• Create mechanical designs for a range of products using 3D CAD software
• Take designs from concept through to production with full product ownership
• Produce advanced 3D models for new parts and assemblies
• Implement modifications and improvements across a range of mechanical products
• Support new product development activity within a fast‑paced design environment
• Use your project knowledge to help ensure products are delivered on time and to budget
• Contribute to design reviews and support less experienced members of the team where needed

The Person

• Previous experience in a mechanical design engineering role
• Good proficiency with 3D CAD software, with Creo experience beneficial but not essential as training can be provided
• Knowledge of stress analysis and FEA
• Experience working with a range of manufacturing processes, particularly sheet metal, castings, extrusions and fabrication
• Candidates from a range of engineering and manufacturing backgrounds will be considered.
