We are seeking an enthusiastic Tax Analyst to join and help build our EMEA Tax team. In this role you will be involved in various tax compliance and tax accounting matters in UL Solution’s EMEA region, including the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, Finland, and the UK. As you grow with us, you will have the opportunity to also be involved in other taxes within the EMEA region.

As a Tax Analyst, you will have the opportunity to play a crucial and broadly visible role within the EMEA region and help provide valuable insights to support our decision‑making processes. At UL Solutions, we are looking for someone who wants to build a solid tax accounting/compliance base of understanding and eventually wants to improve and diversify their tax skills across the EMEA region.

This is a hybrid role. You will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager – EMEA who is located in Arnhem. In your day‑to‑day work you will receive guidance and support from both the Senior Tax Analyst and the Senior Tax Manager to help you grow and succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Quarterly and year‑end preparation of EMEA legal entity income tax provisions in accordance with US and local statutory GAAP and support local accounting teams with related tax accounting work, including reconciliations of income tax payable accounts and return‑to‑provision computations.
  • Stay current on tax law changes that are relevant to ULS across the EMEA region.
  • Ensure analytics and accuracy of the effective tax rate components and deferred tax balances for EMEA affiliate entities and identify tax risks that may require tax reserves.
  • Assist the Senior Tax Analyst in the EMEA income tax compliance process by collecting/gathering information requested by outsourced tax preparers/advisors to file local country income tax returns on an accurate and timely basis.
  • Review financial statements to assure that adequate tax disclosures have been made.
  • Assist in local country tax audits as required and in partnership with local accounting teams to best position the Company for successful audit resolutions.
  • Communicate and explain tax results to finance peers in a concise and comprehendible manner.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners and peers in accounting/finance, external consultants, and statutory auditors.

Qualifications

  • Dutch bachelor’s degree in Fiscal Economics/Fiscal Law from a University (or a University of Applied Sciences).
  • 2–5 years of tax experience, with a preference for either top 10 accounting firm experience or a US‑based multinational company reporting under US GAAP.
  • Understanding of Dutch income tax compliance matters.
  • Experience with/interested in learning tax accounting rules and tax provision computations (US GAAP and/or IFRS preferred).
  • Ability to interpret domestic (Dutch) and international tax concepts and regulations.
  • Ability to be direct, resourceful, meticulous, results‑driven, and to ask for help when needed.
  • Strong ability to multi‑task, effective project management skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with multiple teams in different locations.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • Willingness to learn and be involved in other taxes (VAT, WHT, etc.) in the EMEA region.
