An established and highly respected precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a Sales Support Engineer to join its growing commercial team. Operating within demanding, quality‑driven sectors, the business supplies technically complex engineered components to a diverse customer base and is recognised for its commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and long‑term customer partnerships.
Key responsibilities
- Creating parts, bills of materials (BOMs), and route plans within the ERP system
- Supporting sales with the preparation of accurate and competitive customer quotations
- Liaising with production and engineering teams to establish best manufacturing practices
- Working with suppliers to raise purchase orders and manage subcontract documentation
- Procuring tooling, jigs, and fixtures in collaboration with internal teams
The successful candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining or precision engineering, combined with the ability to work across both technical and commercial functions.
Key requirements
- Experience within CNC machining and/or mechanical assembly environments
- Strong understanding of production engineering and machining processes
- Knowledge of ERP or MRP production control systems
- Ability to plan machining operations efficiently with consideration of materials and methods
- Experience supporting quotations or working alongside commercial teams
