Job Description:

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented People Administrator to join our People Team on a 12‑month fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is a key role providing essential support across the employee lifecycle – from onboarding and contract preparation to maintaining accurate HR records and responding to routine queries. You’ll be the first point of contact for many of our colleagues, helping to ensure a smooth and positive employee experience.

Working closely with People Advisors, the Recruitment team, and other departments, you’ll play a vital part in delivering efficient and compliant HR services that support our people and the wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems in line with GDPR requirements
  • Prepare contracts, variations, and employment-related documentation
  • Support People Advisors with employee relations documentation
  • Respond to routine HR queries professionally and escalate where needed
  • Provide administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and leavers
  • Assist the Recruitment team with pre-employment checks and onboarding
  • Generate reports and HR metrics to support People team activities
  • Process DBS checks for new employees
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at grade C/4 or above
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, ideally within HR
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with HR systems/databases
  • Able to manage a high-volume workload and adapt to changing priorities
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining confidentiality

Desirable

  • CIPD Level 3 qualification
  • Basic understanding of employment law and HR compliance
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Ability to generate reports and analyse basic HR metrics
