Step into a rewarding permanent role as an Assistant Property Manager based in Ilford, London. This opportunity is ideal for someone with proven property management experience who is confident handling a high-volume portfolio and taking ownership of maintenance coordination. You’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day management of a large and diverse property portfolio, ensuring tenants, contractors, and internal teams receive a professional, efficient, and solutions-focused service.

As an Assistant Property Manager, you will be:

  • Managing and supporting a portfolio of 400+ properties
  • Handling incoming calls and resolving maintenance queries confidently and efficiently
  • Troubleshooting issues with tenants over the phone to determine urgency and next steps
  • Prioritising maintenance works in line with company service levels
  • Coordinating and allocating jobs to internal teams and external contractors
  • Proactively managing maintenance workflows to ensure timely completion
  • Keeping tenants informed with clear and professional updates
  • Liaising with tenants, contractors, solicitors, and external organisations such as Citizens Advice or Shelter
  • Accurately logging all activity on the CRM system and updating job records
  • Raising invoices via Xero where required
  • Dealing with antisocial behaviour complaints

We are seeking an Assistant Property Manager who:

  • Has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in property management (ESSENTIAL)
  • Has experience managing a high-volume property portfolio
  • Is confident troubleshooting maintenance issues and advising tenants effectively
  • Communicates clearly, calmly, and professionally in all situations
  • Is highly organised with strong coordination and multitasking abilities
  • Can work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Has experience within housing, utilities, or local authority environments (desirable)
  • Is based within a commutable distance of Ilford (within 45 minutes)
