Senior Quant Analyst – Public Credit
Location: London (Hybrid)
Full Time – 35 hours

Purpose
The Public Credit (PC) team, within Just Group’s investment function, deploys capital into PC markets from new Bulk and Individual Annuity policies and evaluates the portfolio’s risk profile to seek sustainable capital generation via back book optimisation.
The PC Quant Senior Analyst role supports the newly formed PC Quantitative pillar, working closely with the PC Quant manager to enhance technological capabilities for systematic evaluation of investment opportunities and risks.
This involves collaboration with PC Portfolio Managers and Traders to meet commercial needs, and generating new analytical techniques to improve origination and optimisation capabilities. The role also involves working with wider teams (ALM, Investment Actuarial, Capital Management) to ensure PC models are aligned within Just’s technological ecosystem.
Skills & Knowledge
- Excellent analytical skills, quick calculations, and strong intuition
- Team player and effective presenter
- Proficiency in programming, preferably in Python and VBA (2+ years)
- Understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning
- Knowledge of fixed income products and financial market dynamics
- Understanding of Defined Benefit pension schemes and/or Solvency II
- Experience in creating/validating pricing, risk, and analytical models
- Front-Office experience in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of API/SQL/databases
Experience
- Several years in quantitative modelling and analysis, focusing on fixed income and Investment Grade credit
- Proven programming experience
- Investment experience
- Proactive, entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, diligent, and committed to self-development
Qualifications
Essential:
- University Degree or Master’s in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Physics, or related field
- CQF or similar qualification
- CFA or similar qualification
