System Support Automation Engineer

My client is an Embedded Software and Security Engineering company that is growing quickly! They are looking to hire an IT System Support and Automation Engineer as they continue to expand their software engineering teams, to be based in their Bristol office.

This is a varied role that will focus on IT Support and Automation development, using Python.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency
• Collaborate with others to identify automation opportunities across different teams, including Design, Verification, Aerospace, Project Management
• Assist in the provision of on-site technical support for network-related issues and troubleshoot connectivity problems
• Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical hardware including servers, workstations, and peripherals
• Coordinate hardware upgrades and replacements in line with lifecycle policies.

Technologies used will include:

• Active Directory
• HyperV
• Operating systems covering Windows and Linux and their various command line tools
• Git/GitHub Subversion for source control
• Python/perl/bash/powershell for scripting and developing tools

This is a hybrid role (3 days per week onsite)
