CFO | Supported Housing (Registered Provider)
Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid) Salary: £80,000 – £120,000 (Dependent on experience)
The Opportunity
Avalon is proud to partner with a dedicated, small‑scale Registered Provider of Supported Housing to appoint a strategic and hands‑on Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a pivotal role for an ambitious finance leader who wants to make a tangible impact. While the organisation remains agile and boutique in size, its reach is significant, managing a diverse portfolio of stock across the North West and Yorkshire. You will be the financial architect of the organisation, ensuring long‑term viability while the business continues to provide essential housing solutions to vulnerable communities.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Act as a key advisor to the CEO and Board, driving financial strategy, treasury management, and long‑term business planning.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure robust financial governance as CFO in line with the Regulator of Social Housing standards.
- Operational Excellence: Lead a lean finance team, overseeing management accounts, statutory reporting, and audit processes.
- Growth & Development: Appraise new housing schemes and funding opportunities to support the organisation’s regional footprint.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with lenders, local authorities, and the RSH.
Requirements
We are looking for a seasoned finance professional who balances technical expertise with a mission‑driven mindset.
- Experience: Proven track record at a senior level (CFO, Finance Director, or Head of Finance) within the Social Housing or Supported Housing sectors.
- Qualifications: Fully ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of the social housing regulatory framework and the nuances of intensive housing management and supported living funding.
- Agility: Comfortable operating within a “small business” environment where you are expected to be both a strategic visionary and a hands‑on problem solver.
