Who’s the business
Zanda is partnering with a high growth, Investor backed InsurTech business based in London who operate across the UK and Europe with clients globally. With revenues of over £5million and a headcount of over 30, they have ambitious growth plans and are looking for a Financial Controller who can help them automate and simplify financial control and operations and make a real impact on transforming and influencing a scaling business, driving better decision making.
Reporting to the COO and fractional CFO, the Financial Controller will support with future funding rounds, financial rigor, the financial audit and implementing processes and systems that allow the business to scale. The team are in the office 2-3 days a week in Central London.
What experiences you will gain
- Owning the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and consolidation, ensuring compliance and managing key external relationships
- Developing, implementing and improving financial processes, controls and policies that can scale with the business
- Owning the monthly management information reporting including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Leading the revenue recognition, cash collection and partner payments process through developing a strong partnership with the Operations and Data team
- Managing and processing monthly VAT returns, monthly payroll and the end of year annual account process
- Ensuring compliance with HMRC, Companies House and European entity filing requirements
- Leading optimisation and implementation of financial systems and building scalable processes
- Managing the relationship with the external accountants, external advisors and HMRC
- Providing key financial insights to drive operational and commercial outcomes
What background should you have before you press apply!
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA), within audit
- Experience within an investor backed scaling technology business
- Strong expertise in implementing processes and controls
- Data driven with a high attention to detail and the ability to work with large data sets in excel
- Excellent communicator who can advise and challenge senior non finance stakeholders
