Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the design and delivery of complex machinery projects. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working autonomously, managing multiple design projects, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design of bespoke, high-precision industrial machinery
• Take full ownership of projects, ensuring delivery to specification, budget, and timeline
• Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for manufacturing and assembly
• Develop innovative design solutions to meet complex technical requirements
• Work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams where required
• Oversee design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards
• Support manufacturing and assembly teams with technical expertise
• Identify and implement continuous improvements in design processes and methodologies

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a senior mechanical design role within industrial machinery or similar environments
• Strong proficiency in both 2D and 3D CAD software
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and take ownership of deliverables
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or practical work experience
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
