Customer Service Manager
Location: Rotterdam, Dartford | Type: Full‑time
Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Customer Service Manager to lead our Customer Service teams across Benelux, the UK and Switzerland within our Ships Service / Marine Products division. In this role, you will combine people leadership, commercial focus, and strong customer relationships to drive performance and deliver outstanding service across one of our most important regions.
Founded in Norway in 1861, Wilhelmsen is a global maritime group delivering essential products and services to more than half of the world’s merchant fleet. Our Marine Products division supplies marine consumables, products, and solutions to vessels of every type.
About the role
The Customer Service Benelux, UK & Switzerland department plays a critical role as the link between customers and our global logistics network. The team is based in Rotterdam and Dartford. You will lead:
- 5 Sales Advisors in Rotterdam
- 4 Sales Advisors in Dartford
Each team member manages their own customer portfolio. You will also be part of the North Europe Customer Service Management Team, contributing to regional collaboration and best‑practice sharing.
What you will do
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the Customer Service teams to deliver high customer satisfaction and commercial performance
- Ensuring execution of sales strategies, product campaigns, and promotional activities
- Driving proactive quote follow‑up, order handling, and sales contribution
- Monitoring and achieving KPIs related to sales growth, order value, response time, and customer satisfaction
- Identifying and acting on sales opportunities through customer interaction and data insights
- Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Ensuring structured, efficient, and consistent ways of working across the team
We believe you have
- A Bachelor’s degree (or similar), preferably in a commercial field
- At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial role
- Excellent command of English
- Strong communication skills and a good eye for business opportunities
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
- Experience from the maritime industry (an advantage)
- Analytical skills and digital literacy to identify opportunities through customer data
- A systematic and organized approach to managing multiple processes and priorities
