Job Description:

Mechanical Engineer – Engineering Change Specialist – Obsolescence

Commutable from: Greater London / North London / West London / Surrey / Hertfordshire / Berkshire / Kent

What if your next role wasn’t just another move… but a long-term career decision?

I’m working with a globally respected engineering organisation operating at the cutting edge of aerospace & defence. This is a business with a confirmed order book stretching over the next decade – offering something rare in today’s market: true stability and long-term security.

They’re now looking for an Engineering Change Specialist to play a critical role in managing obsolescence and driving design improvements across complex, safety-critical products.

Why this role stands out:

  • Long-term stability – secure pipeline of work for the next 10+ years
  • Clear progression pathways – structured growth, not just promises
  • Work on highly complex, multi-disciplinary engineering systems
  • Join a business where engineering is at the heart of everything
  • Exposure to global programmes and advanced technologies

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading investigations into obsolescence and design change issues across live products
  • Managing engineering change processes, from root cause through to implementation
  • Working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and external stakeholders
  • Producing technical documentation, reports, and presenting change reviews

What they’re looking for:

  • Experience in engineering change, configuration, or obsolescence management
  • Strong problem-solving / root cause analysis (8D, RCA) skills
  • Background in aerospace, defence, or complex manufacturing environments
  • Someone who enjoys working on challenging, real-world engineering problems

This is the kind of opportunity that doesn’t come up often – a chance to join a business where people stay, develop, and build long-term careers.

If you’re open to hearing more (or just curious), drop me a message.
